The goals of UNFPA (UNITED NATIONS POPULATION FUND) – achieving universal access to sexual and reproductive health (including family planning), promoting reproductive rights, reducing maternal mortality, and accelerating progress on the ICPD agenda and the Millennium Development Goals – are closely linked.

unfpa activities in egypt
Egypt was one of the first countries to sign an agreement with UNFPA to initiate population activities.
UNFPA employs edutainment tools, which include music and interactive theater, to raise awareness on population issues such as gender-based violence, family planning, and harmful practices against girls.
Strengthened national policies and international development agendas through integration of evidence-based analysis on population dynamics and their links to sustainable development, sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, HIV and gender equality.
firstly: violence against women and girls
Violence against women and girls is one of the most common and widespread violations of human rights in Egypt, in the Arab region and worldwide. There is a great need to offer sustainable solutions, and consequently, an increasing number of NGOs and youth initiatives have emerged on the scene and are involved in anti-harassment work and FGM.
secondly: population growth
UNFPA, together with the support of the European Union, the governments of Norway, Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands, have put forth a major and comprehensive rights-based program to support the Egyptian government in scaling up family planning programs,
thirdly: education
education has an important role in establishing ideas and building a culture. Education is, in a way, a means of human development, as it provides learners with an opportunity to improve their reality in many aspects.
Therefore, the United Nations Population Fund, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, organized educational programs for students and teachers that help them to be creative and learn correctly and beneficially.
